Welcome to The Book World! We are passionate about getting your new books to you as quickly and reliably as possible. This policy outlines all the details about our shipping methods, delivery times, and costs.

1. Processing Time

All orders are processed within 1-2 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays) after payment is confirmed. Orders placed after 2 PM GMT/BST or on weekends will be processed the next business day.

2. Shipping Methods & Delivery Timelines

Royal Mail Standard (2nd Class) : 2- 6 business days – Free Shipping

We primarily ship within the United Kingdom. We offer the following shipping options at checkout:

Please note: All delivery estimates are provided by the carrier and are not guaranteed by TheBookWorld. Delays can occasionally occur due to unforeseen carrier delays, public holidays, or adverse weather conditions.

3. Shipping Destinations & International Shipping

  • UK Mainland: We ship to all addresses in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
  • UK Islands & Highlands: Shipping to the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Highlands, and other offshore locations may incur a surcharge and experience slightly longer delivery times. This will be clearly shown at checkout.
  • International Shipping: We currently do not offer international shipping outside of the United Kingdom.

4. Shipping Costs

Free Shipping: We are pleased to offer FREE Standard Shipping on all orders.

5. Order Tracking

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing your tracking number (if you selected a tracked service) and a link to monitor your package’s journey.

If you did not receive a tracking number or have issues with it, please contact us at support@thebookworld.uk with your order number.

6. What If I’m Not Home?

For standard Royal Mail deliveries, your postal carrier will typically follow their standard procedure (e.g., leaving with a neighbour or depositing a “Something for You” card with instructions for redelivery or collection from your local Delivery Office).

7. Damaged or Lost Packages

The Book World is not liable for any packages that are lost or damaged due to carrier error. However, we will gladly assist you in filing a claim with the shipping carrier. Please contact us immediately at support@thebookworld.uk if your order arrives damaged or does not arrive within 10 business days of your order confirmation.
